'Visions and Voices' is a site specific interactive installation created for Gallery Oldham, which explores themes such as the importance of the individual and the passage of time. This installation combines multi-user interactive projections with images created from fingerprint powder. The images used were created from photographs stored in Oldham's Local Studies archive. The interactive projections allow visitors to control the soundscape of the exhibition. One projection activates voices from the past using historical recordings from the North West Sound Archives, whilst the other activates voices from the present as recorded in interviews with pupils from 2 local secondary schools. The projections also experimented with allowing interaction between gallery visitors and remote users from the internet. Link to video documentation below.
