Lorraine Berry’s work ‘Through the Looking Glass’ is an original animation, specially conceived and created by the artist for the ‘Curious and Curiouser' group exhibition at the Galleri Rebecca Kormind in Copenhagen.  The animation places the Greek myths of Pygmalion and Narcissus in the context of modern technology, specifically the use of avatars in virtual worlds such as ‘Second Life’.  Virtual worlds are being increasingly used for business and social engagements. These computer generated worlds allow us to create another persona, one with the possibility of eternal  youth and physical perfection but how does this impact on our sense of who we really are and does this ultimately liberate or imprison us?’
